About the Event

Karen Lake’s twenty years of mediation experience, coupled with her art and legal education, led to the birth of Music Resolution.

Karen brings the creative, intuitive and emotional strength of an artist to her passion for conflict resolution. Growing up as a middle child, Karen is uniquely suited for her profession, as she was often the one whom family relied upon to mediate disputes. With Music Resolution, her mediation, legal and artistic training are combined in a unique approach to problem solving.

As an alternative dispute resolution expert, Karen gives couples a unique opportunity to express themselves, find clarity, and heal through the power of songs. Communicating through music works to give couples an alternative to  therapy. During a troubled marriage, Karen sought couple counseling for the sole purpose of proving that she was right and her husband was wrong. Informed by this experience and her keen artistic sensibilities, Karen knows that music speaks to the spirit in ways that plain words cannot.

Music Resolution is a vital intersection of Karen’s mediation training, emotional wisdom and creative expertise to facilitate constructive conversations between couples who are experiencing conflict or simply interested in reigniting the passion in their relationship.

When staying together is no longer a viable option, Karen uses music to assist with the process of conscious uncoupling. Parting ways on a “good note” is ideal for those who have children together and desire to co-parent amicably.
